Multiple Teams · Boy’s Swim Returns with Medals and Three New State Cuts


Boys Swim is taking another relay to state! They 200 Freestyle relay of Fugett, Bell, Ruff, and Noll made the state cut today in this exciting race where each swimmer does a 50 yard sprint. Junior, Nathan Noll, achieved three new state cuts at today’s Independence Invitational, in addition to bringing home a gold medal in the 100 Fly.

Kolby Ruff, a remarkable new freshmen, brought home silver and bronze medals in the freestyle events. Brady Bell fought back several competitors for a third place medal in the 100 Breastroke, and Raymond Fugett scored over 26 points in the 50 free and 100 backstroke.

Justin Coleman posted his fastest 50 yard backstroke in the medley relay, and proved his scoring potential in the 200 IM. Freshmen, Tristan Pottebaum, got a third place medal in the 100 butterfly, with a 1:16.99 best time, and a fifth place finish in the 50 free, scoring the most amount points for the JV squad. Dylan Holman, who has quickly learned the hardest stroke, completed the challenging 100 butterfly race.

Curt Bollinger and Patrick Sheeran posted best times in the 100 yard breastroke event, with Bollinger scoring a solid eight points for junior varsity. Henry Sharpe displayed his long reach in the 100 freestyle, and posted a best personal record.

Overall, the team came in 6th place in a tough invitational that involved teams from all over the state.
