Boys Varsity Baseball · Varsity Baseball Sweeps Excelsior Springs in Saturday Double-Header

The Warriors moved to 4-5 on the season with a two game sweep over the Excelsior Springs Tigers on Saturday. In game 1 the Warriors exploded on offense, winning 14-3. Senior Kyle Ruff supplied three hits as well as a walk. Sophomore Ryker Edwards earned the win on the mound. Senior Caleb Sanders hit his first home run of the season as well. In game 2 the warriors won by a score of 16-5. Senior Brad Schram had 3 hits and 2 runs scored in the contest. Junior Christian Holderby supplied 3.1 innings of relief, allowing only 1 run and earning the win for the Warriors. Smithville will be back in action at home against Ruskin on Wednesday, April 7th.
