Boys Varsity Baseball · Warriors Go 3-0 in Weekend Series

Varsity baseball moved to 16-5 on the season and extended their win streak to 15 games with a trio of hits over the weekend. The action got started Friday night with a 11-0 win over the Harrisonville Wildcats at home. Juniors Julian Watkins and Keltin Nitsche combined on the shutout, striking out 5. At the plate Sophomore Andrew Hedgecorth went 3-3, while seniors Brad Schram and Caleb Sanders both hit home runs.

On Saturday the Warriors traveled to Carthage and started the day off against the hosting Carthage Tigers. The Warriors won the contest 6-0 behind a complete game shutout from Sophomore Ryker Edwards. At the plate both Senior Brad Schram and Sophomore Samuel Wornson went 2-4. In game 2 of the day the Warriors defeated Joplin 9-3. Senior Jacob Wheeler provided 4 shutout innings to start the contest before giving way to the bullpen. Senior Kyle Ruff went 2-4 and led the way at the plate. The Warriors go on the road vs Platte County Monday at 4pm.
