Veronica McNeece was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Wednesday, driving in five on three hits to lead Smithville Warriors Varsity past Kearney 11-1 on Wednesday. McNeece drove in runs on a triple in the second, a single in the third, and a single in the fifth.

Smithville Warriors Varsity got things started in the first inning when Haley Cotter drew a walk, scoring one run.

Smithville Warriors Varsity put up four runs in the third inning. Deyton Odneal, McNeece, and Lily Wornson all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Makaela Carr pitched Smithville Warriors Varsity to victory. Carr lasted six innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out ten.

Miranda Michael took the loss for Kearney. Michael surrendered seven runs on nine hits over two and two-thirds innings.

Smithville Warriors Varsity racked up 16 hits on the day. Carr, McNeece, Odneal, Raelyn Tanner, and Katie Robinette all managed multiple hits for Smithville Warriors Varsity. McNeece and Carr all had three hits to lead Smithville Warriors Varsity.
